Oracle Internet Directory Installation on Solaris 10

In this post we shall see installation  of Oracle Internet Directory (OID) / Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) on Solaris 10.

Part 1 Install Oracle Weblogic Server 10.3.6

Install Weblogic server 10.3.6 as per below document and create a new middle-ware home for Oracle Internet Directory(OID)

Steps to install Weblogic 10.3.6 on Solaris?

Part 2 Install Oracle Internet Directory Binaries 

 Step 1) Download required binaries and unzip it.

Step 2)Execute below command from Disk1
 "./runInstaller"

Step 3) )Select radio button Skip Software Updates and click Next



Step 4) Select radio button Install Software-Do Not Configure and click Next



Note :If you choose the Install Software - Do Not Configure option, the Installer installs the component software and then closes. Oracle Identity Management components will not start running after deploying them using the Install Software - Do Not Configure option, as additional configuration is needed.

Step 5) Make sure it passes all checks. In case of any error please correct it before proceeding.




Step 6) Oracle Middleware home : Middleware Home location
                Oracle Home Directory :  Oracle Internet Directory Oracle Home name.

  Step 7) Act as per business requirements:




Step 8) Confirm everything and click Install


Step 9) Check Progress bar and once its completes 100% Click Finish
